Some unknown men on Saturday, January 27 attacked one of the three aspirants of the ongoing NPP parliamentary primaries, Mubarik Abdullah in the Sunyani West constituency.
The aspirant, Mubarik Abdullah confirmed to TV3 that the attack happened around 2 am while he was on his way to meet some delegates at Chira.
Speaking to TV3’s Claude Kumi Abisa in an interview, Mubarik Abdullah who appeared at the polling station in bandages said the incident has been reported to the police and investigations are currently underway.
The incumbent Member of Parliament Ignatius Baffour Awuah is battling it out with Ama Frimpongmaa and Mubarik Abdullah.
Some 1,029 delegates are expected to cast their ballots today.
