Besieging EC’s collation centre illegal – Samuel Tettey

The Electoral Commission (EC) has warned political party supporters against besieging the National Collation Centre in Accra.

This caution follows an assembly of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters at the Commission’s regional collation centre in Accra.

Deputy EC Commissioner Samuel Tettey, addressing journalists on December 9, reiterated the need for calm and order, urging all parties to respect the process.

He further announced that the presidential and parliamentary results would be declared at 4:30 PM.

“There’s no need for supporters of the political parties to besiege the National Collation Centre. This is illegal and unwarranted.

“The National Collation Centre should be visited by only people with accreditation, all others can watch live the declaration of results on TV by 4:30 pm.”
