Patrick Boamah satisfied with road works in his constituency; Looking forward to completion

Member of Parliament for Okaikoi Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has expressed satisfaction at the progress of construction works on some roads in his constituency.

The project is the construction of 3.02km of drains and rehabilitation of 7.04km of selected roads in New Fadama covering Abete Street, Kwanza, Boiman Street, Twum Abeka Street and Abeashie Street among others.

The cost of the project is GH¢10.833 million and is being executed by M/S Sanam Ghana Limited.

During an inspection tour of the various project sites with journalists on Wednesday 17th May 2023, Hon. Patrick Boamah explained the project started about a year ago and is very important for residents of these areas.

According to him, no construction work has taken place on these roads in the past 50 years posing serious inconvenience to drivers, residents and school children.

Completion of the first, he said, has lifted a huge burden from the shoulders of residents, especially commercial drivers who ply between Darkuman Junction and Lapaz.

He indicated that the project could reduce the huge traffic that builds up at Nyamekye Junction as those going to Lapaz would now simply use the inner roads instead of joining the N1.

He said, “When completed eventually, it will improve access to the road network in New Fadama, school children will be protected in the area of health as the dust element would have been eliminated for these kids and the community.”

“It will also increase business access because hitherto people would find it difficult to access the area and also land owners will enjoy because property values will go high and those seeking to rent will pay a premium.”

Assemblyman for Olengle Koona where most of these roads are being rehabilitated, Ibrahim Seidu Nkruam, expressed gratitude to God, the government and the MP for the work after such a long time.

According to him, the project is a huge relief to residents of these areas and eases a lot of worry for them.

Commercial drivers who will use these roads said the construction is long overdue and praised Hon. Patrick Boamah for his imitative.

They pledged to support and vote for him always and warned any person who will contest is starting at ‘0’.
