The explicitness of the Winneba High Court in its ruling on Mawutor Avoke and the others is not in doubt.
The court held that the then beleaguered Vice-Chancellor and the others were to be reinstated with immediate effect. The reinstatement did not exclude the then dethroned Finance Officer.
What the Chairman of the Governing Council sought to do was to adhere to the dictates of the court and that meant that the one acting as Finance Officer ought to be removed.
Why should the implementation of the High Court’s directive rile a group of people within the University community? This is happening because these people seek to continue with that objectionable system instituted by Afful Broni.
In any event, their darling boy Francis Obeng still has his job as a deputy finance officer at UCC. Why wouldn’t they encourage him to go back? Didn’t Obeng know at the time he took the appointment that Arkolie was still fighting in court to be reinstated? Or Afful Broni told him Arkolie will never win? AG was spot on in advising that Francis Obeng must go back to UCC to make way for Arkolie forthwith.
Eric Sakyi-Nketiah, the President of UTAG-UEW and his partner in crime, Beth Offei-Awudu, President of GAUA, UEW, have decided to fight this cause of action by the Nana Ofori Ansah I, the Chairman of the Governing Council, and their reasons are dishonourable, putting it mildly.
These two musketeers are agents of former Vice-Chancellor Rev. Father Afful Broni who simply cannot afford to have his stewardship subjected to critical scrutiny.
Afful Broni was a complete mess and is unwilling to allow his unwholesome legacy assessed by the current regime. It points to the fact that the skeletons in his cobweb are unimaginably awful.
Sakyi-Nketiah and Beth Offei are the vessels through which Afful Broni wants to have his way. This explains the reason behind the call by the duo to have the Council Chairman expelled.
Their ill-meaning petition should be treated with the sort of disdain it deserves. It is self-serving and an attempt to shield Afful Broni from the mess he created at UEW.
How can just two people write a petition and create the impression that all the other members of the Council were behind same? The majority on the Governing Council does not share in this Afful Broni-orchestrated agenda.
Nketsia and his partner in crime must give peace a chance. Maybe they don’t but let me say here and now that government is so so tired of the UEW nonsense and won’t tolerate a reincarnation of these non-issues. Dr Adutwum is too busy to entertain the nonsense of those schemes and noises from this cabal.
Justice and fairness will prevail. The politics of NDC and NPP must end! The ethnic-tribal bigotry must end! All members of staff must tolerate one another and form a beautiful rainbow leadership to uplift the image of UEW. The Registrar should know that his time will come soon. He is such a vicious character in all of these and the chief architect derailing the progress of UEW and misinforming the Education Minister.
The two are advised to desist from such anti-UEW moves. If they find the ruling of the court to be unlawful, the best place to cure same is the same High Court. Anything short of this would be interpreted as an agenda against the development of UEW in particular and Effutu in general.
