PNC dismisses ‘illegitimate Memo’ on primaries as internal dispute deepens

The People’s National Convention (PNC) has vehemently rejected a memo circulated on January 2, announcing the commencement of nominations for its Parliamentary and Presidential primaries.

The memo, signed by General Secretary Janet Asana Nabla, has been labeled “illegitimate” by the party.

A press release issued on January 9 by National Chairman Moses Dani Baah dismissed the memo, stating that it “carries nothing but frivolity and vexation” and should be ignored with the contempt it deserves.

The release emphasized that the party’s internal elections traditionally begin with the establishment of a Congress Committee, which takes charge of all aspects related to the internal elections.

Furthermore, the release issued a stern warning that individuals participating in the alleged illegal act of obtaining nomination forms would be implicated in an ongoing legal proceeding against General Secretary Janet Asana Nabla.

The party leadership asserted that the internal issues surrounding leadership would be resolved promptly, ensuring proper internal elections shortly.

The dispute within the PNC adds an extra layer of complexity to the party’s internal dynamics as it navigates its path toward upcoming primaries.
