PNC reorganisation begins, 2023

The People’s National Convention (PNC) has announced that the National Executive Committee (NEC) has not decided on any timetable regarding the re-organisation of the party.

The opposition party says a “workable” roadmap early 2023 will be fashioned out by NEC “to undertake the re-organisation of the party from the polling stations through the constituencies, regions to the national level appropriately”.

This comes after an earlier release put the start of the party’s quest to wrestle power in 2024 at Saturday, October 1.

That release was signed by General Secretary Janet Asana Nabla.

But there was a counter statement on Wednesday.

“My attention has just been drawn to a statement attributed to the suspended General Secretary of the People’s National Convention, Ms Janet Nabla, purporting to be organising regional, constituency and branch elections.

“As the National Chairman of the party, I wish to state categorically that she has no such power or authority to take any such action or give any such directives as she remains suspended from her former position as the General Secretary of the PNC,” Mose Dani Baah wrote in the press release on Wednesday, October 19.

He assured that NEC will handle the matters on a unified force, which “can never be shredded into pieces as Janet Nabla and her few disgruntled supporters are seeking to do to serve their selfish and parochial interest”.
