NPP Special Delegates: Alliance Looms as Big Names Fall

Political watchers say they will not rule out a possible alliance following the results of Saturday’s Special Delegates of the ruling New Patriotic Party.

They insist there could be concessions paving the way for an alliance in the lead up to the party’s delegate’s conference in November.

Already, some schools of taught hold that the possibility of concession will not be a walk in the park especially as some of the delegates have raised concerns of intimidation and attacks on their polling agents.

For now, the North East regional coordinator for NPP’s flagbearer aspirant, Alan Kyeremanten, has been hospitalized following an attack on him.

Ali Zakaria was reportedly assaulted by unidentified individuals after he questioned some voters who were publicly displaying their ballot papers to other delegates.

MP for Assin Central Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has already threatened to give President Akufo Addo and Vice President Bawumiah a showdown over reports of his Agents being chased by Supporters of the “established” Aspirant Dr. Bawumia.

In a video going around Kennedy Agyapong who is one of the front runners of the Super Delegates Conference can be seen speaking on the phone with his agents who supposedly told him they were being chased by supporters of the Vice President.

“I swear President Akufo Addo, Bawumiah I will give you show down. You have the effrontery to chase my Agents, I will give you a showdown”, Kennedy Agyapong fumed.

It has not been verified whether indeed his Agents are being chased out but in super Delegates like this, nothing can be ruled out.

However, Vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is leading as provisional results keep trickling in.
