Presidency confirms Nana Bediatuo Asante hospitalized in US but in stable condition

The Office of the President has confirmed that Nana Bediatuo Asante, Secretary to the President, was admitted to a hospital in the United States after feeling unwell following the conclusion of the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

A statement by the Office indicates that Nana Bediatuo, a key member of President Akufo-Addo’s delegation, remained in the U.S. for further government business when he began to experience health issues.

He is currently in stable condition and responding positively to treatment.

According to the medical team, his recovery is progressing well, and officials are hopeful for his swift return to full health.

The Office of the President has requested continued prayers and support for Nana Bediatuo and his family during this time. Further updates will be shared as necessary.

Meanwhile, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, a prominent figure in the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed deep concern over false rumours regarding the supposed death of Nana Bediatuo Asante.

Posting on X (formerly Twitter), Otchere-Darko condemned the malicious speculation, describing it as evidence of “deep and scary” hatred.

“Rumours will kill you long before your death. It is not true. Stop spreading falsehood,” he wrote.

He referenced Aristotle’s belief that while anger can be cured with time, hatred remains much harder to heal.
