President appoints Nuhu Bayorbo Mahama new CEO of Students Loan Trust Fund

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Mr. Nuhu Bayorbo Mahama as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF).

The appointment was announced in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff, Mrs. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

According to the letter, Mr. Mahama will act as the CEO of the SLTF pending receipt of the constitutionally required advice of the governing Board of the Fund, given in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

The letter congratulated Mr. Mahama on his appointment and charged him to indicate his acceptance or otherwise within 14 days of receipt of the letter.

The Students Loan Trust Fund is a public institution established under the Trustee Incorporation Act 1962, Act 106 to provide financial resources for the benefit of students and to promote and facilitate the national ideals as enshrined in Articles 25 and 38 of the 1992 Constitution.

It is to replace the SSNIT Student Loan Scheme.
