Prof. Naana Jane applauds Presby Church Ghana for service to mankind

NDC running mate for the 2020 elections, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has charged the Presbyterian Church of Ghana not to rest on its oars but to continue to serve the nation and mankind as a whole.

Speaking at the unveiling of a multi-purpose bell tower on the occasion of the launch of the 3rd Apenkwa Basel Festival on Sunday 2nd April 2023, Professor Naana Opoku-Agyeman praised the church for its social services to the country.

The bell tower was built with church funds and special contributions from some 30 church elders and reverends in honour and memory of the Basel missionaries of the Basel Mission Switzerland who established the congregation in 1868 at Achimota and later acquired the land at Apenkwa and established the Salem Community on 1st June 1889.

Professor Nana Jane Opoku-Agyemang represented former President John Dramani Mahama at the programme.

She indicated that the former President had wished to honour the invitation in person but had been compelled to travel to Kenya on a very important matter of national interest.

She, however, assured the church Mr. Mahama is always ready and prepared to offer them all the support they will need.

She applauded the efforts and the initiatives that the Presbyterian Church has been embarking upon including the building of hospitals, polyclinics and clinics to provide the necessary healthcare to the Ghanaian people.

She thanked the church for choosing to invite the former President among the many distinguished Ghanaian citizens they could have called upon.

She also congratulated the NDC Okaikwei Central Constituency who joined the church service and for being present to support her and the programme.
