Your appointment is well-deserved – Volta NDC congratulates Prosper Bani

 

The Volta Regional office of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has congratulated Mr Prosper Douglas Bani for his appointment as leader of a six-member interim National Security Coordinating Team.

“Your appointment is well deserved,” a statement signed by Mr James Gunu, the Volta Regional Secretary, NDC, said on Saturday.

“The Functional Executive Committee and the overall membership of the party in the region extend their congratulations to Mr Bani, the former Minister of the Interior, and to the other distinguished members of the team.”

Mr John Dramani Mahama, the President-elect, Friday named the members of the security team as Lt Gen Peter Augustine Blay (Rtd), a former Chief of Defence Staff; Mr Totobi Quakyi, former National Security Minister; Lt Col Larry Gbevlo-Lartey, former National Security Coordinator; Brig Gen Fuseini Iddrissu (Rtd); and Commissioner of Police Nathan Kofi Boakye.

The team, starting from Tuesday, January 7, 2025, will oversee and coordinate National Security issues pending substantive appointments.

The statement said their collective expertise, dedication, and commitment to serving the nation in these crucial times were commendable, expressing confidence that under Mr Bani’s capable leadership, the team was sure to “address the pressing security challenges facing our country.”

It commended Mr Mahama for recognising Mr Bani’s leadership qualities and entrusting him with this critical responsibility, adding that the appointment was a testament to his “outstanding track record and his ability to deliver results in high-pressure situations.”

“We have every confidence that Hon Prosper Bani’s vast experience and knowledge will enable him to excel in his new role. His past achievements are a shining example of his capabilities, and we are certain that he will continue to make us proud.”

“The challenges facing our nation demand the services of a seasoned expert like him, and we are reassured that our national security is in capable hands.”

The statement expressed confidence that together with the members of the team, they would work tirelessly to address those pressing issues and ensure that Ghana worked again for the benefit of all citizens.
