Queenstar Maame Pokuah Writes: Welfare of Youthful NABCO Trainees – My Concern

Hon. Queenstar Maame Pokuah Sawyerr Writes:

On Saturday 5th March, 2022, I hosted all trainees in Agona East who work under the government’s flagship programme, Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) at my residence in Agona Kwanyako to discuss issues of employment and welfare.

The unpaid NABCO trainees in the country have embarked on numerous demonstrations and used other communication mediums to demand from the government to honour its pre-election promise of integrating them into the permanent mainstream works and unpaid allowances due them.

As an important arm of government (legislature), it is important to give urgent attention and add my voice to their welfare system.

I, therefore, donated to each trainee clothes, cash and food items to mitigate their hardships and to put smiles on their faces.

We also shared ideas, advice, ate together and danced.

It is my prayer that the LORD touches the hearts of the authorities in charge to pay the eleven months arrears of HEAL GHANA Nurses and isolated trainees in other modules.

Indeed our God is Good!
