Kenyan residents of Kapropita in the outskirts of Kabarnet, Baringo County, were shocked after stumbling upon a foetus being fed on by a dog.
Reports indicated that the foetus may have been dumped in the nearby bushes – before the dog bumped on it.
The incident, which occurred near Ratabei estate on Thursday morning, February 10 has left the residents and the police in shock.
A witnesses said they saw a dog munching at something that resembled a human, and when they moved closer to investigate, they were shocked to learn that it was indeed a foetus, a human.
According to the residents, the foetus had developed all the human features, and could have been seven months old, or thereabout.
Police from the area took the body to Baringo referral hospital mortuary, Kabarnet.
Meanwhile investigations into the incident have began in earnest, with the police keen on finding and prosecuting the woman who may have committed the inhumane act.
Kapropita MCA Jennifer Kabon condemned the incident, and urged young women to shun abortions even in the event of unplanned pregnancies.
“Kindly avoid these bad behaviours. If you conceive, even if it is by accident, wait until you give birth, then give that child to someone else and go away instead of killing them,” Kabon said.
