Cristiano Ronaldo has broken his silence after Juventus‘ Champions League elimination at the hands of Porto by defiantly stating that this is the time for the Bianconeri to get back on their feet.
There have been rumours that the 36-year-old could leave Juventus after this latest failure in Europe, with a return to Real Madrid even mooted, but he has posted a message on social media for his followers.
“More important than the number of falls you take in life, is how fast and how strong you get back on your feet… True champions never break!” Cristiano‘s Instagram post began.
“It’s true that the past belongs in museums (I should say!), but fortunately, football has [a] memory… and so do I!
“History can’t be deleted, it’s written every single day with resilience, team spirit, persistence and lots of hard work.
“And those who don’t understand this, will never achieve glory and success.
Juve Boss Andrea Pirlo didn’t hold back in assessing his own team and their recent form as well as rumours on Cristiano Ronaldo‘s future.
“He’s good, it’s normal that he’s disappointed, just like everyone else,” Pirlo said of the Portuguese international.
“The rumours are normal, he’s the most important player in the world with Messi, he’s always done a great job here and shown his bravery.”
