Stay vigilant and monitor polling stations until every last vote is counted – Mahama to NDC

Former President John Dramani Mahama has called on supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to stay alert, vigilant and committed during the upcoming December 7th elections.

He emphasised the need for vigilance at polling stations until every vote is counted.

Addressing a gathering of enthusiastic NDC supporters during his campaign tour, Mahama reaffirmed his belief in the party’s victory and stressed the importance of monitoring the entire electoral process.

“We’re not going to select just two polling agents to go and sit there while the rest of us go home and sleep. We would stay there until every vote is counted and the result is declared before we go to bed,” Mahama urged the crowd.

He encouraged his supporters to stay awake, alert and vigilant between December 7th and 9th to ensure the election process runs transparently.

Mahama expressed confidence that the NDC would reclaim power in the upcoming elections, adding that feedback from his campaign trail showed overwhelming support for change.

“Every region I have been to has assured us that they are going to change the government on 7th December 2024 and bring the NDC back to come and continue the good work we were doing when we had the reins of government.”

His remarks also underscored the importance of trust in the electoral process, as he called for vigilance until the Electoral Commissioner, Jean Mensah, officially declares the election results.
