MP for Suhum, Kwadwo Asante, affectionately called ‘Oboafo’ has donated 36 taxi cabs to drivers in his constituency to empower them.
These taxis presented to the drivers are to assist them in making life a bit easier through work and pay.
The MP clarified that the donation was not based on party affiliation and that he has been doing this even before venturing into politics.
According to him, the rationale behind the presentation is to help the youth to have a better living.
“I want to inject the entrepreneurship spirit into the people of Suhum. I believe in capitalism and empowering the people to create their jobs
“Government cannot create jobs for all the people. We the people must take charge of our destiny and create wealth for our society,” he said.
Hon. Kwadwo Asante advised the beneficiaries to put the cars in good shape so they can last for a long period.
The colorful ceremony was graced by the Deputy Minister of Transport, also MP for Adeiso, Hon. Frederick Adom. He advised the drivers to be law-abiding and respect driving regulations.
Some drivers who received the cars expressed their gratitude to the MP and promise to use them for the intended purposes.
