The Member of Parliament for Constituency and Deputy Minister for Transport, Hon. Alhaji Hassan S. Tampuli has established an Education Fund to support students of the Constituency.
This is in fulfillment of yet another incredible manifesto ( campaign) promise he made to the constituents in the run-up to the 2020 general elections.
Hon. Tampuli had made a commitment to establish an Education Fund through which he will be using 50% of his MP’s salary to support students of the Constituency to pay school fees.
The Deputy Transport Minister as a result has set aside an amount of GH₵ 140, 000 (1.4 Billion old cedis) which is practically more than the 50% of the MP’s salary and has gone ahead to present it to over 150 beneficiary students across all accredited tertiary institutions in the country.
This year’s initiative has seen a tremendous 131% increase in the number of students from 65 last year to over 150 students this year.
The MP’s Special Initiative on Education support and in some cases sponsorship is the first of its kind in the Gushegu Constituency.
