NDC supporters jubilate in Tema West following election results declaration

The Tema West Constituency witnessed scenes of jubilation on Sunday afternoon as supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) celebrated their victory in both presidential and parliamentary elections in the constituency.

They noted that the win marks a significant victory for their party in the constituency, as it is the first time they have defeated the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Hundreds of excited party faithful flooded the Tema Senior High School, the collation centre, dressed in ND C-branded paraphernalia, waving flags, drumming and singing, and chanting party slogans.

Party executives attributed the success to effective grassroots mobilisation and the party’s commitment to addressing local concerns such as unemployment, poor infrastructure, and inadequate sanitation.

Mr Kwame Yartey, an NDC supporter, expressed his delight, saying, this victory indicates that Tema West and the entire country have been ready for change for a very long time.

“This is a win not just for the NDC but for every citizen who believes in the development of the country.”

Madam Emmanuella Tsumwaa Baidu, said that she was an ardent supporter of the NPP until the Domestic Debt Exchange Programme, which rendered most of the elderly in society sad.

“Any party that cannot fight for the people, has contributed their quota to national development, and will leave them to picket on the sun for days is not worth associating oneself with,” she stated.

While the celebrations are largely peaceful, the Tema West Police Command maintained a visible presence to ensure public safety, and NDC Tema leadership congratulated the party’s supporters for their resilience, thanked constituents for their trust, and pledged to prioritise the constituency’s development agenda and foster unity.
