The smoldering tension between the two aspiring Parliamentary Candidates in the Okaikwe North Constituency Primaries has reached its height.
The two, Member of Parliament for Akropong, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei and Maame Afia Akoto, a former Deputy Executive Secretary of the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) appear to be at each other’s throat even before the first vote is cast for the polls.
The duo are gearing for a head-to-head battle in the constituency in the lead up to the 2024 December elections.
In the latest twist to the largely social media banter- Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah-Adjei is seen throwing jabs at someone she described as a “Peau Claire” person.
She wrote: “I don’t pretend to be what in not, I’ve never had to introduce any blood brother of mine as my driver to create a rich aunty perception for myself. For me what you see is what you get. I know my level since”.
Afia Akoto in what looks like a reply also wrote:
“This is just the doing of the Lord. The God of my fathers showed up yesterday, to showcase me in a grand style Join the grassroots landlady of OKN Thank you so so much to all delegates that came. This was just to submit my forms and not a health walk or unity walk. Coming events…… thank you my Spiritual Fathers and your Altars”.
Quoting Jeremiah 1:17-19 she added: “Get yourself ready! Stand up and say to them whatever I command you. Do not be terrified by them, or I will terrify you before them. Today I have made you a fortified city, an iron pillar and a bronze wall to stand against the whole land—against the kings of Judah, its officials, its priests and the people of the land. They will fight against you but will not overcome you, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.”
The former MASLOC Deputy Executive Secretary continued: “when they are conspiring against you and their own phone calls you. Then you know there is God oooo. They will fall into the pit they dug for us. This one na God ooooo”.
It may be recalled that Afia Akoto after submitting her nomination in a Facebook post wrote: “Today with 720 delegates 280 non-delegates we submitted my forms at the constituency office with a walk from my house to Akweteman. #TheLandLadyOKN #landladyokn This is the doing of the lord and it is marvellous in our eyes. Thank you to Anahuma, Nii Boi Town, Akweteman, Achimota , Abofu , Anumele and Alogboshi delegates of NPP Okaikwei North. Together we win. The Land is taken”.
