THINK FRUITFUL THOUGHTS

Scripture Reading: Proverbs 3:11-20

The Lord by wisdom founded the earth; By understanding He established the heavens; By His knowledge the depths were broken up, And clouds drop down the dew. Proverbs 3:19-20

The world we live in is the fruit of God’s wisdom. When we observe creation, we see God’s wisdom, understanding and knowledge in manifestation. Everything we see

around us and in the universe reveals God’s thoughts to us. To live fruitful lives, we must have constructive ideas.

God stimulates our imagination to conceive transformational ideas. He does that through His word and promises. The Lord activated Abraham’s faith by making him imagine his descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky. By that act, Abraham was able to visualize himself as the father of many nations even though he had no child. The Lord uses prophetic words to create positive pictures in our hearts and minds.

Our spiritual and physical perceptions are generally opposed to each other. What we see in the spirit is not always the same as what we see physically. In the spirit, God shows us what is possible; in the physical, our senses show us what is not possible.

A mind that is trapped in impossibility cannot inspire fruitfulness. When we centre our thoughts on what can’t be done, we won’t see the solutions staring us in the face. To be fruitful, we must take hold of every immobilizing frame of mind that holds us back from using the gifts and talents that God has so graciously given to us.

One of the most fundamental differences between human beings and all other life forms is our ability to imagine. God created us with the ability to think of things that do not exist. He gave us the propensity to create pictures of things in our minds before we work to bring them into reality.

Imagination helps us to:

• Originate new possibilities. We can see the new things that God wants us to see.

• Rearrange existing scenarios. We can think of our situations from different points of view.

• Plot out alternate courses of action. We can follow new and godly directions for our lives.

• Create a preferred future for ourselves. We can be all that God wants us to be.

All the fruitful works we see around us came from someone’s imagination. Allow the Lord to guide your thoughts creatively.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, open my mind to your thoughts. Help me to capture the new ideas of your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
