Two students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and a Tanzanian died from an explosion at a Palm Oil Processing Company in Juaben in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday.
The students were doing their industrial attachment with the company.
Assembly Member for Abesim-Daaman Electoral Area, Ransford Osei said the three were among eight workers who were working close to the water tank which detonated, battering hot water on them.
The Tanzanian national, he noted, was a student who was on an attachment at the company.
He added that the deceased was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
One of the three departed souls according to the Assemblymember was identified as a 28-year-old electrician, Paa Kwasi whiles the identity of the other two victims are yet to be announced.
“The cause of the blast at the processing company is not yet known,” he said.
He added that one out of the remaining five who sustained varying degrees of injuries is currently receiving medical attention at KATH while the rest are being examined at the Juaben Government Hospital.
