Approximately 45 students from the Presbyterian Nurses Training College, Bawku, were targeted in an attack by two gunmen on motorbikes near Binduri.
The incident, which occurred on Friday afternoon, resulted in injuries to several students, who were subsequently rushed to the Bawku Presbyterian Hospital for treatment.
The bus, transporting students who had recently vacated, was ambushed close to the police barrier at Binduri, with gunshots fired.
Fortunately, there were no reported fatalities.
Municipal Chief Executive of Bawku, Amadu Hamza, confirmed the incident and noted that the uninjured students were escorted by the police to Bolgatanga.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with Hamza highlighting the sporadic nature of gun-related incidents in the region.
