Watch: Ken Agyapong and Sylvester Tetteh square off on the floor of Parliament over alleged unpaid loan

Tempers flared in Parliament on Tuesday as Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, MP for Assin Central, confronted his fellow NPP colleague Sylvester Tetteh, MP for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro, over an alleged unpaid loan.

The incident began when Tetteh attempted a friendly gesture towards Agyapong, who inexplicably became enraged.

The situation escalated to the point of a physical altercation before Deputy Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markinw intervened and separated the two MPs.

While the details of the disagreement remain unclear, it supposedly stemmed from Tetteh’s outstanding debt to Agyapong.

Sylvester Tetteh supposedly responded to Agyapong’s demands for repayment by telling him to go to court, further infuriating the Assin Central MP.

Though the outburst occurred outside the direct view of the presiding speaker and microphones, it nonetheless drew the attention of journalists and observers in the public gallery and other MPs in the Chamber.
