We Shall Not Follow Alan If He Goes Independent-Hon. Davis Opoku Ansah

The Member of Parliament(MP) for Mpraeso, Davis Opoku Ansah, has stated that under no circumstances would he or his colleague lawmakers who supported Hon. Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten, follow him to form his party in case he decides to quit the NPP.

The MP who was an integral member of the Alan Campaign Team as one of its coordinators, indicated that he is NPP and that was his motivation to support the former Trade Minister and therefore, would not abandon the party to join Chief Alan Kyerematen if he chooses to go independent.

“If Alan leaves NPP, then he is on his own. All the MPs that supported him did so because he is NPP” Hon Davies Opoku Ansah known widely as OPK stated this on Citi TV’s Point of View show on Wednesday, 6th August, 2023.

Sammi Awuku, the Campaign Coordinator for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on his part, called on all the supporters of Alan Kyerematen to come and join the Bawumia team as November 4 draws

On the same show was Political Science lecturer, Prof. Ransford Gyampo, who held the view that a research they conducted favoured Alan Kyerematen in the November 4 elections but it was unfortunate that he had bowed out at this time.
The former Trade and Industry Minister announced his withdrawal from the race through a press statement citing alleged unfair treatments being meted out to some of his supporters

He also alleged that from the get-go, the entire processes were skewed to favour one aspirant (Dr. Bawumia), and, therefore, he sees no reason why he should continue to be in the race.

The NPP heads to the polls on November 4 to select the party’s flagbearer to face John Mahama. Four aspirants were still in the race, namely; Bawumia, Ken Agyapong, Akoto and Afriyie Akoto.
