WE ARE NOT OF THE FLESH

Scripture Reading: 2 Corinthians 5

Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. 2 Corinthians 5:16

We are spiritual people. We must not regard ourselves after the flesh. When a person gives their life to Christ, their flesh dies with Christ and their spirit is made alive. From that moment, the Christian becomes a spiritual man or woman.

From now on, we regard no one after the flesh. It doesn’t mean that you have no flesh or that you do not have a physical body. We do have a fleshly or physical body. But the source of our life is not in the flesh, it is in the spirit.

The Christian life is a spiritual life. Our salvation is spiritual. The blessings of God to us are spiritual. Our gifts and callings are spiritual. The power at work in us is spiritual.

To master the spiritual life, we must not allow the limitations of our flesh to hide the power of the spirit. We must learn to bring our bodies under subjection to our spirit. Ultimately, who we are in the spirit must manifest in our natural life. The healing in our spirit must manifest in our body. The breakthrough in our spirit must manifest in our physical life.

In the flesh you may be from a tribe, race, caste or gender that people look down on. But the spirit in you soars and rises to higher and higher heights. In the flesh you may be the least in your family but in the spirit you are strong and mighty.

In the flesh, Moses was a stammerer but when he became aware of the spirit upon him, he spoke boldly and powerfully. In the flesh Peter was an illiterate fisherman but the spirit in Him was full of knowledge and wisdom. Even scholars took note of the depths of his knowledge

Be aware of the spirit of Christ within you.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you that you look beyond my flesh. In the spirit, I am strong, capable and able to all things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
