Nineteen Persons with Disability (PWDs) in the Okaikwei North Municipality in the Greater Accra Region have received economic empowerment items from the Assembly.
They include deep freezers, Hair dryer and accessories, Popcorn machine, Laptop stationary, Cosmetics, gas stove, gas cylinder, cooking utensils among others.
This forms part of the District Assemblies Common Fund which is in fulfilment of the government’s responsibility to support PWD’s in the country as stipulated by the Constitution.

He said the Assembly was committed to improving on the lives of PWDs in the Municipality hence the donation.
The gesture, the Okaikwei North MCE stated was also to prevent the PWD’s from begging for alms by the roadside and to make them financially and economically independent.
