Yao Gomado retains Akan Seat for NDC 

 

Mr Yao Gomado, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament (MP) for Akan Constituency, has retained his seat.

He garnered 18,228 votes, representing 59.6 per cent of the valid votes cast, as against 11,772 votes, (38.5 per cent) secured by Mr Mustapha Tassah, the Akan New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate.

Ms Mary Yawa Aforla, Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) parliamentary candidate, had 175 votes.

The total votes cast was 30,551 and rejected ballots were 376 votes.

Mr Gomado’s figure, however, fell short of 1,089 votes of the 2020 Parliamentary results in the Constituency.

He had 19,317 votes, representing 58.69 per cent as against 13,300 votes, representing 40.41 per cent secured by Alhaji Rashid Bawa, the NPP parliamentary candidate.
