Pius Enam Hadzide, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority (NYA), has called upon the youth to adopt a fresh outlook on Ghana and its development trajectory.
He emphasized that Ghana serves as a vital gateway to Africa, and various initiatives are already underway to shape and enhance our nation.
Hadzide stressed that Ghana is swiftly advancing, contributing to the improvement of our economy, and he urged the youth to actively participate in this transformation.
Mr. Hadzide highlighted significant developments such as the introduction of digitalization in Ghana, which has propelled the economy forward, especially in the wake of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
These remarks were made during a National Youth Month Celebration organized by the NYA in collaboration with the International Youth Fellowship (IYF) at the 2023 National Youth Conference, themed “Reformed Youth, Reformed Ghana.”
In his address, Hadzide underscored the importance of empowering the youth with resources to enable them to play a pivotal role in Ghana’s development. Acknowledging that Ghana’s population is predominantly youthful, he emphasized that the youth cannot be overlooked in national development efforts, as it is a collective responsibility for all citizens to support their progress.
Drawing inspiration from the success story of South Korea, Hadzide expressed optimism that Ghana, too, can overcome its challenges and become a prosperous nation. He pointed out that South Korea had faced adversity in its early years but is now considered one of the world’s most successful countries in terms of development.
In another development, Mark Okraku-Mantey, the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, highlighted the abundant opportunities available in Ghana, particularly in entrepreneurship. He urged the youth to adopt the mantra “No Pain, No Gain” as a source of motivation to achieve success in their later years.
Youth representatives from all 16 regions and 261 districts were selected to participate in the three-day 2023 National Youth Conference held at the Legon Campus in Accra from September 1st to 3rd, 2023.
