Yussif Jajah Issaka: Ayawaso North MP commissions four water projects, showcases development milestones

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso North, Yussif Jajah Issaka, commissioned a series of water projects for his constituency on Wednesday, November 6 2024 which saw members of the community and the media in attendance.

The MP underscored the importance of the newly constructed water facilities for residents in various electoral areas, including neighbourhoods like ‘Chicago’ in Accra Newtown, Kasoa Kuda (Senya)
Agbenaa Junction (Estate) and Alidu park (Alidu)

He said, “This is a good day for the people of these communities. You have all witnessed the commissioning of these water projects, facilitated by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) in collaboration with my office.”

Yussif Jajah acknowledged the urgent need for improved water access in the community, explaining the strategic placement of the projects in underserved areas.

The people of the communities, he said, really need water, which is why he strategically chose to provide the facilities.

In addition to water projects, the Ayawaso North MP shared updates on other initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for his constituents, particularly in the areas of sanitation, education, and healthcare.

He explained that his office has invested in community-wide sanitation improvements, including cementing narrow passageways, locally known as “Lungu Lungu,” to make them safer and cleaner for residents.

He said, “Through my office, we have done our best to cement almost all the passageways. Now, even in the evening, you can walk through without watching your step.”

Jajah also underscored his contributions to local schools, particularly in providing furniture for classrooms, including Arabic schools, and offering scholarships to support students in the community.

In the health sector, Ayawaso North MP revealed plans to commission a newly built maternity block and two operating theatres at the Maamobi General Hospital.

“We’ve established a new theatre and maternity block on the same floor,” he announced, promising improved healthcare facilities in the weeks to come.

Looking ahead to the upcoming election, the MP expressed confidence in retaining his seat and in the success of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ayawaso North.

“I know, by the grace of God, the good people of Ayawaso North will retain me as their Member of Parliament, and I believe the NDC will form the next government,” he affirmed.

The MP aims to secure a ‘margin of 20,000’ votes to show strong support for both parliamentary and presidential candidates from the NDC.

Yussif Jajah appealed to his constituents, saying to continue to have confidence in him and vote for the NDC to come to power so they can experience even more development with him as their MP.

With the projects underway and additional developments on the horizon, MP Yussif Jajah hopes to bring further progress to the Ayawaso North constituency and its residents.
