A group calling itself “Patriots Vigilante” has issued a stern warning to super delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti region against voting for any candidate based on bribes they might receive.

Led by Baffuor Osei Agyenim, the group believes that the NPP’s success has been rooted in democracy and principles, and they fear accepting inducements may compromise the integrity of the party’s upcoming flagbearer elections.

The leader of Patriots Vigilante emphasized the group’s stance, stating, “The NPP was built and safeguarded by individuals committed to democracy, earning it the accolade ‘Domo.’”

“Super delegates must not fall prey to material incentives and instead vote with their conscience on August 26, 2023.”

In their pursuit to ensure transparency, Patriots Vigilante has also called for the disclosure of a full list of all super delegates in the Ashanti region, along with their photos.

The group warned the delegates of the potential consequences if they let personal gains influence their voting decisions.

Meanwhile, NPP delegates in the Ashanti region are eagerly awaiting the visit of the presidential candidate aspirant, Alan Kyerematen, the ‘Home boy’.

A fervent supporter of Mr. Kyerematen expressed their enthusiasm, saying, “We are determined to give him a warm welcome and pledge our support to make him not only the next flagbearer but also the next President of the country.”

Mr. Kyerematen is scheduled to engage with delegates in the region from Monday, August 7, 2023, to Saturday, August 12, 2023.

His visit has sparked excitement and anticipation among the constituents, with discussions centered on his promises and the feasibility of their implementation.

A polling station executive in the region, Mr. Emmanuel Boateng Appau, questioned the credibility of the Vice President’s campaign team, which has criticized Mr. Kyerematen’s promise of paying polling station executives.

He remarked, “If some aspirants claim that Mr. Kyerematen’s promise is unachievable, how can the lives of polling station executives in the party be improved?”

The Vice President’s campaign, themed “It is Possible,” has faced criticism from supporters of Mr. Kyerematen, who see the attack on the promise of paying polling station executives as a sign of deception.
