Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has described the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, as a phenomenal candidate poised to bring transformative change to Ghana.

In a statement emphasizing the significance of selecting Dr. Bawumia to lead the NPP, Jinapor stressed his ability to unite diverse sectors of Ghanaian society and his commitment to improving living conditions, particularly in Northern Ghana.

“Vice President Bawumia’s vision extends across the north, south, east, and west, promising inclusive development,” said Jinapor, expressing his confidence in Bawumia’s ability to lead the NPP to victory in the upcoming elections.

Speaking in an interview in Parliament on Tuesday, October 7, Abu Jinapor stressed the importance of evaluating the records and visions of both the NPP and NDC candidates, emphasizing the need for informed decision-making.

He underlined the critical role of the vice-presidential candidate, stating, “Your vice president should be someone you can trust completely, someone who complements the ticket and ensures a smoother path to victory.”

He emphasized that the choice of the running mate should be based on a candidate’s ability to complement the ticket, ensuring a victory that paves the way for substantial progress and development for all Ghanaians.

He assured he would accept any candidate Dr. Bawumia feels comfortable to team up with.

Regarding Northern Ghana’s political landscape, Jinapor agreed the region will become the battleground for the NDC and NPP, citing historical electoral data.

According to him, the key question is which candidate could bring about programs and policies uplifting the lives of all Ghanaians, with Northern Ghana being an integral part of the nation’s progress.

Abu Jinapor praised the NPP’s contributions to Northern Ghana’s development under President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia’s leadership.

He highlighted achievements such as the construction of the first international airport and interchange in Tamale, along with successful agricultural initiatives like Planting for Food and Jobs, which significantly impacted the region.

Jinapor underscored Dr. Bawumia’s vision for Northern Ghana and the nation as a whole, emphasizing the transformative programs and policies that would uplift the conditions of all Ghanaians.
