Black Stars striker Jordan Ayew has stated that he is ready to help young Leicester City players including fellow Black Stars player Abdul Fatawu Issahaku after joining The Foxes.
The move ends Ayew’s six season stay at Selhurst Palace where the 32 year old played 212 times for Crystal Palace.
Aside reconnecting with Leicester manager Steve Cooper (they worked together at Swansea City), Ayew joins Issahaku at Leicester and Ayew made it clear that beyond his countryman, he will help young players at the club.
“I’m really happy for him because he has done really well since he first came in and I’m really proud of him. Obviously, he’s young and he has more years ahead of him, but I’m here to help not only him, but everyone. We have experience and we need to help the younger ones, but I expect them to help me as well; it’s teamwork.”
Issahaku joined Leicester on loan in the 2023-2024 season and helped them gain promotion to the EPL. The 20 year old made his EPL debut as Leicester City drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspurs and registered an assist in the game.
