Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has reaffirmed his commitment to prioritizing job creation and business empowerment when elected President in the December elections.

“My focus will be jobs and businesses, we must stabilize the economy and create a conducive environment for businesses to thrive, which will, in turn, generate more jobs for Ghanaians” he said.

Dr. Bawumia also the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) gave the assurance when speaking to media practitioners from all 16 regions of the country at his maiden media encounter in Accra on Sunday.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized that his administration would be laser-focused on fostering economic growth through the empowerment of businesses and the creation of sustainable jobs.

He highlighted the NPP’s 2024 manifesto, unveiled last week in Takoradi, as a comprehensive plan that directly addresses the challenges faced by businesses and avenues his government will explore to create jobs for the teeming youth of the country.

“In our manifesto, we have laid down comprehensive economic proposals to sustain the rebounding economy, reduce the cost of living, stabilize the currency, empower businesses, reform the tax administration, and deliver jobs,” he stated.

Dr. Bawumia also emphasized the crucial role of the media in Ghana’s democratic process and national development. He reiterated the NPP’s commitment to media freedoms and collaboration with the press to ensure accountability and the dissemination of ideas. “The media is an important ally in our national development agenda and our quest to expand the frontiers of democratic governance in Ghana,” he remarked.

As part of his broader economic vision, Dr. Bawumia also outlined 14 key commitments, including transforming Ghana into a world-class digital economy, expanding public infrastructure, and providing better healthcare for all.

He stressed that these commitments would be crucial in driving job creation and supporting businesses across the country.
