The Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, has tendered her resignation from her position in the government.
The decision follows swirling accusations of theft at her home that have surfaced in both social and traditional media over the past 24 hours.
In her resignation letter addressed to the President, Cecilia Dapaah expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve her country and work towards fulfilling the government’s vision.
She, however, cited the ongoing court case and media reports surrounding the theft that allegedly occurred in her residence last year as the primary reason for her resignation.
She clarified that the figures being circulated in the media do not accurately represent what she and her husband reported to the Police.
The former minister pledged her full cooperation with state agencies to ensure a thorough investigation into the matter.
She expressed unwavering confidence that the truth would ultimately prevail, exonerating her from the allegations that have been causing a frenzy in the public domain.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has yet to officially respond to the Sanitation Minister’s resignation, and the government’s stance on the unfolding situation remains unknown.
