Chaos unfolded at an Ashanti region polling centre during the NPP’s Super Delegates Conference election, as Raphael Sarfo Patrick, the Regional Youth Organizer, openly revealed his marked ballot in favour of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The unanticipated revelation triggered protests among polling agents, resulting in a temporary suspension of the voting proceedings.
Law enforcement and electoral commission officials swiftly quelled the chaos. Consequently, the exposed ballot was rendered null, and the delegate was promptly escorted out of the centre.
The NPP had earlier cautioned all delegates against publicly disclosing their cast votes following the voting process.
The ongoing nationwide Super Delegates Congress by the NPP aims to streamline the aspirants from 10 to 5, paving the way for the upcoming congress scheduled for November this year.
