Mr. Senyo Hosi, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors has waded into the controversies in Parliament stressing that it is only when parliament is constituted that submissions to a parliamentarian on the floor or to parliament can be contemptuous.
He argues that once Parliament rises, an MP is simply just another citizen adding “the building of parliament is not parliament. It is the sitting of its membership, that is.”
His comments come after Social activist Oliver Barker-Vormawor was dragged before the Appointments Committee of Parliament over some contemptuous comments against the membership.
However, the former Ghana Chamber of Bulk Oil Distributors Chief Executive Officer taking to social media hared his opinion on the matter.
He wrote “I respect parliament, but its members are not superior humans. Respect the citizens and earn respect back. Always remember to be humble for your power emanates from the people.”
He added “While Emeafa may opt to render one, she owes no one a public apology, especially after apologising privately to the MP. He said it himself yesterday. You threaten a citizen, saying you will deal with her and expect her to be cowed? I do not tolerate bullies, and neither does Emeafa.”
Mr. Hosi concluded: “I nonetheless commend Annoh Dompreh for his composure on set. I wish he did it earlier to avoid the provocation.”
