Chief of Staff, Frema Osei-Opare says the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) is optimistic of winning the Assin North bye elections on Tuesday.
She said President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is confident the residents of Assin North would give the party a resounding victory in the polls.
Speaking to tailors and dressmakers in the constituency ahead of Tuesday’s elections, the Chief of Staff, urged them to vote for the NPP’s candidate.
She said the President wants the constituents to vote for the candidate in order to have their fair share of development in Assin North.
Residents of Assin North constituency are heading to the polls on Tuesday for a by-election following the Supreme Court’s ruling that ousted former MP James Gyakye Quayson as an elected member of parliament.
The Court held that his election was null and void because at the time he filed to contest, he owed allegiance to another country contrary to Ghanaian laws.
The constituency has been a beehive of political activity with both the NPP and NDC jostling for votes as the clock ticks to the start of polls.
The NPP’s Charles Opoku won the internal election organised by the New Patriotic Party in the Assin North constituency to lead the party to the by-election.
