Be Magnanimous in Jubilation-Okaikwei North NCCE Urges Voters

Mrs. Joanna Ampomaa Nkansah, the Deputy Director at the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) Regional Office has urged voters to adhere to all the rules and regulations in the December 7 general elections.

She said the strict adherence of electoral rules was key to the sustenance of the peace of the country.

According to Mrs. Nkansah, winners in the elections must be magnanimous in jubilation and not jubilate to provoke other political opponents.

The NCCE Deputy Director at the Regional Office made the appeal during a Dialogue for Parliamentary Candidate’s   in the Okaikwei North Constituency in the Greater Accra region.

She cautioned the electorates to avoid the spread of fake news and shun the practice of spreading misinformation and disinformation.

Madam Vivienne Achel, the Okaikwei North Municipal Director of the Commission in a message said the NCCE has played a pivotal role in sustaining Ghana’s democratic credentials through series of flagship programmes over the years.

She assured that the 2024 elections will be successful and peaceful adding “it is therefore our collective responsibility as individuals and political parties to help promote the needed peace of the country.”

“I entreat political parties to desist from engaging in irresponsible activities that would create the platform for conflict such as ballot snatching, multiple voting and other electoral malpractices. I also use this opportunity to encourage all illegible voters to turnout in their high numbers to vote on 7the December 2024 peacefully.”

Civic Education

Mrs. Theresa Lardi Awuni, the Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency stated that as the Member of Parliament, she has facilitated the grading of several roads in the Constituency-including Achimota, Christian village, Achimota College among others, stressing there was no excuse for bad roads in the city which is a sign of bad leadership.

Regarding health the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate disclosed that she has donated Hospital beds to the Achimota hospital as well as Personal Protective Equipment’s (PPE’s), gowns, drip hangers and continue to pay hospital bills for several patients.

She stated that she has diligently served her Constituents and was hopeful to get their mandate in the December 7 elections.

Civic Education (

Mrs. Rebecca Frederica Akweley Abladey, the Resident Minister of the Achimota Presby Church added her voice to calls for peace before, during and after the elections.

Quoting Psalms 133, she said guns and bullets are no respecter of persons and charged all to be ambassadors of peace.

Mrs. Abladey reminded the gathering that there were dare consequences of war including loss of family, hopelessness, hunger, rape, defilement, among others.

The event was a platform for the candidates to outline their vision to bring development to the people in the lead up to the December 7, 2024 general elections.
