The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has formally requested a minute’s silence to be observed in memory of the late Asante Kotoko SC legend, Paapa Arko, preceding all 2023/24 MTN FA Cup Round of 64 matches.
Paapa Arko, former captain of Asante Kotoko, passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023, following a brief illness.
Renowned for his pivotal role in leading Asante Kotoko to victory in the Africa Cup of Champions Club Competition in 1983, Arko also played a significant part in the club’s triumph in the 1984 FA Cup, where they emerged victorious against Goldfields in the final.
All participating clubs and stakeholders have been duly informed to observe a moment of silence before kick-off during the MTN FA Cup Round of 64 matches scheduled to take place from Tuesday, November 28, to Thursday, November 30, 2023, as a symbolic tribute to the esteemed late football icon, Paapa Arko.
