The Council of State has invited Organised Labour for an emergency meeting on Friday, July 7,
The meeting is in relation to the July 10 strike declared by Organised Labour last month.
The strike was declared after several negotiations ended in a stalemate.
The workers are demanding the reinstatement of some three union leaders dismissed by management at Sunon Asogli Power (Ghana) Limited for joining a union.
Since the strike was declared on Monday, June 26, the National Labour Commission (NLC) had directed the two feuding parties to meet and report back.
After a series of negotiations, the Spokesperson of Labour, Dr Anthony Yaw Baah, expressed disappointment in the final round of negotiations held on Thursday, July 6.
“I should say we are very disappointed,” Dr Yaw Baah told TV3‘s Daniel Opoku after negotiations on Thursday.
“When we left here on [Wednesday], we were hopeful that [on Thursday] we will get a deal, all that management had requested we were ready to provide.”
