According to GHS on its website, about 3,088 active cases were recorded in all 16 regions as of September 27.

Out of the total active cases, 124 are severe while 43 are said to be critical.

So far, data presented by the Health Service to enable citizens to be aware of current standing indicates that the number of active cases recorded has declined.

Main breakdown

In its latest update, 140 new cases were recorded, bringing the total confirmed cases to 127,482.

As it stands now, the Ghana Health Service has discharged from its health facilities some 123,238 individuals who have recovered from the virus.

The Greater Accra Region remains the largest hotspot for contracting the deadly coronavirus disease.

Members of the general public are therefore urged to continue to observe the safety Covid-19 protocols amidst the immunisation exercise being carried out by the Service.

According to GHS, a total of 1,653,422 Ghanaians have been vaccinated. Out of the figure, 786,899 have been fully vaccinated.

About 865,422 individuals have received the first dose of the AstraZeneca and Sputnik-V vaccine, whereas 1,101 others have received the first dose of the Moderna vaccine.
