PAHM virtual For Africa’s Cultural Heritage- Prof. Obeng

Prof Pashington Obeng says the Pan Africa Heritage Museum (PAHM) is a virtual museum in the exhibition of Africa’s cultural heritage.

He stated that the Museum is going to aid interconnectivity of African citizens and allow citizens of different African countries to know what is going on in other African countries.

According to Prof Obeng, PAHM, a vision of Hon. Kojo Yanka is meant to give a feeling of museum to everyone at any time .

“We are living in perforated spaces; we are no longer bounded by a museum that can be experienced physically that is why the museum has been created in order to get the museum experience in different places”.

He added that the museum brings together various stories, experiences, and artifacts of people of different Africa descent in a virtual space to be made available for others to experience

Prof Obeng was speaking at the PAHM painting presentation held on the 5th of June 2024 at the AUCC campus where art works made by Padiki was presented to PAHM.

 cultural heritage.Sharon Dede Padi, the CEO of Padiki Art Gallery, her artworks pardons luxury hotels and prominent museums across Ghana including the Hedzranawo Slavery Museum. She is deeply committed to promoting Ghanaian culture and her supports to the community.

Sharon spoke about Pan- Africanism emphasizing on it involvements in our African Cultural Heritage.

Mr Ladi Nylander spoke about how Dr Nkrumah’s wish to have his manuscript kept in Ghana but because we lacked the facilities, the manuscript are in a museum in South Africa, he also spoke about putting more efforts into protecting our Heritage he ended his speech by appreciating Padiki’s painting.

Before the artworks where handed to PAHM she was given the chance to talk more about her paintings; the paintings were four in number, three centered around slavery and motherhood and one was about African unity.
