Despite disputing claims of official contacts from Hearts of Oak, former Great Olympics coach Yaw Preko has announced his willingness to join the Phobians’ technical team.

Following the departure of Serbian coach Slavko Matic, the club has been linked to a variety of managers, including Yaw Preko, who is thought to bring his experience as an ex-player to help resuscitate the team’s fortunes.

Yaw Preko was expected to be named as an assistant to Annor Walker who has surprisingly joined rivals Great Olympics.

While dismissing reports of him joining his former club, Preko admitted he was prepared for the job and would accept it if there was an official contact.

Great Olympics coach Annor Walker slams ‘unserious’ Hearts of Oak

“I haven’t heard anything. Nobody has contacted me,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.

“I am ready because it is my job. If someone calls you for his job, you have to ask about what is good for him. if you can deliver then you can accept it but move on if you can’t deliver,” he added.

Yaw Preko, who played for the club between 1991 and 1992 before becoming an interim coach in 2016 following the departure of Kenichi Yatsuhashi, managed Great Olympics last season but was fired after a dismal run of results.

Meanwhile, Annor Walker has criticized the club’s method of contacting coaches, claiming an unethical approach to signing players before assigning them to a coach.
