We have sighted a write-up supposedly penned by a pro-Ken Agyapong group questioning a supposed Dr. Bawumia’s promise of giving ten appointments to each constituency if elected to lead the NPP and becomes President.
The group that goes by the name Legon Lectures and Professionals for Ken, lists a number of questions which we find puzzling, putting it mildly.
They asked where Dr. Bawumia would the jobs for 10 people in every constituency. They are also asking if the Vice President was focusing on job appointments or government ones.
They also question the job creation credentials of the Vice President since they don’t see that in him and that they see no evidence to believe same to be true.
They also asked the plans Dr. Bawumia have for over 100,000 Ghanaians who maybe unemployed.
They asked other related questions which do not merit responses due to their shallow natures.
It is important to establish the fact that Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has been the most active, vibrant and phenomenal Vice President in Ghana’s recent history.
His impacts transcend job creation as they permeate other sectors as well. Are they saying that NaBCo was never implemented in Ghana? Are they saying that more nurses and teachers have not been employed under this administration?
Are they saying that the roads being constructed, other infrastructural projects going on do not employ Ghanaians?
So they are essentially saying that the industrialization taking place in many districts have not roped in Ghanaians?
More importantly, are they not aware of the life-changing policies and implementations of same in the field of digitalization? Don’t they k ow the number of people who have been employed in this sector?
Let us come to the ten jobs or appointments they talked about in their press release. We can tell them on authority that even as we speak, more than ten party people and Ghanaians in general have been employed in every constituency.
A party in power can fill over 6000 vacancies in state agencies. They should do the maths and find out if ten appointments cannot be made by the President. This is so basic to have eluded them.
The group must snap out of the thinking that only businessmen can create jobs. All the Presidents we have experienced over the years were not strictly businessmen but they created jobs.
Even the serene environment for businesses to thrive and businessmen to create jobs is facilitated by the President and his government. Without a safe, sound environment, which businessman can create jobs?
We have held the view that this being an internal election, these write-ups with such questions must be minimized since our greatest enemy is the NDC.
We can equally raise issues with some pronouncements of Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong on his campaign trail.
He is on record to have stated that if given the nod to lead the party and to become president, he would not ask footsoldiers to submit their CVs for job opportunities.
We can also state on record that at his private entity, KenCity Media, he asks for CVs before people are considered for job placements.
We urge this group to refocus their attention on selling their messages to the Polling Station Executives for consideration instead of attacking Dr. Bawumia.
Dr. Bawumia has his eyes firmly fixed on the ball, the bigger picture which is breaking the 8 for the NPP for all of us to be beneficiaries of the sound policies ans programs he will introduce to grow the economy.
