Dr Emmanuel Abeere-Inga, a Programmes Management and Civil Engineering Expert, has taken office as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Northern Development Authority (NDA) and giving assurance of working to reposition the organisation to address the needs of the people within its jurisdiction.
Dr Abeere-Inga, speaking at the offices of the NDA in Tamale where the outgoing CEO handed over to him, urged staff of the organisation to be united and worked together to attract the needed resources to deliver on the mandate of the organisation.
He said, “If we hold together and work together, we will get the resources to deliver.”
President John Mahama, last month, appointed Dr Abeere-Inga as the Acting CEO of the NDA.
Dr Abeere-Inga, who has many years of experience in development work, prior to his appointment, was the Director of Infrastructure, Lands, Environment and Natural Resources at the NDA.
Dr Abeere-Inga urged staff of the organisation to be mindful of their public utterances about the organisation so as not to damage its reputation.
He thanked Mr Sulley Sambian, the outgoing CEO of NDA, for bringing harmony to the organisation.
Mrs Jamilatu Ibrahim, a seasoned accounting professional, who has also been appointed by President Mahama as the Deputy CEO of NDA, told the staff that “We are here to support. We are not here to witch-hunt. Let us work together to bring progress to the north.”
Mr Sulley Sambian, the outgoing CEO of NDA, who served the organisation in that capacity for two years, touched on some of the achievements during his tenure, saying “We have been able to touch lives even though we haven’t solved all the problems.”
He expressed gratitude to the staff for their cooperation and support for him during his tenure, expressing hope that the spirit of working together would continue at the organisation.
He advised the staff to portray the NDA positively to attract the needed support.
