Mr. Djietror was appointed following an extraordinary meeting held in November 2024 where two other deputy clerks were interviewed for the position of the Clerk to parliament.

Mr. Djietror, a seasoned lawyer and one of Ghana’s most experienced procedural clerks, emerged as the top candidate after interviews involving three deputy clerks.

His extensive parliamentary experience includes serving as Clerk at the Table of the House and Clerk to critical committees, such as the Committee on Constitutional, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, the Business Committee, the Committee on Judiciary, and the Committee on Foreign Affairs.

The Rt. Hon. Speaker of the 8th Parliament and Chairman of the Parliamentary Service Board, Mr. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has issued an official appointment letter to Mr. Djietror.

He is scheduled to commence his new role on January 1, 2025, as Mr. Cyril Oteng Nsiah proceeds on annual leave on December 31, 2024.

Mr. Djietror is set to oversee a pivotal parliamentary session, including the swearing-in of newly elected Members of Parliament and the Speaker on January 7, 2025.

His unparalleled experience is expected to ensure a seamless transition and effective management of parliamentary proceedings.

The Rt. Hon. Speaker is anticipated to formally announce the appointment to Members of Parliament before the House adjourns its current session.
