Head coach of the Egyptian National Men’s Football Team, Rui Victoria, says he relishes the chance for his team to play against the best players including Mohammed Kudus.
In his pre game presser, he added that he will get his side to be ready to play against the West Ham United midfielder on Thursday, January 18 at 20:00 GMT in the second Group B game for both teams.
Egypt and Ghana head into the matchup under pressure after struggling in their opening games with Ghana losing 1-2 to Cape Verde and Egypt drawing 2-2 with Mozambique.
However, Ghana played against Cape Verde without Kudus due to an injury Mohammed picked up just before the Black Stars trip to Cote D’Ivoire for the 2023 AFCON.
“I think it’s good for the tournament that the best players play all the games. For me, it’s clear. For me, he’s (Mohammed Kudus) a fantastic player, he’s doing well in the English Premier League. I am ready to face that kind of player we are ready for that we will prepare the team for that.”
“We will have to control him but not only him because the Ghana team is a very good team and all the players are good.”
Kudus has six goals in 16 EPL games in his first season with West Ham and trained with the Black Stars ahead of the game.
