The Member of Parliament for Ellembelle, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah, has been arrested by the Airport Divisional Police Command for careless driving.
The MP and four other motorists were arrested near the Aviation Social Centre for the road traffic offence including driving in the middle of the road facing oncoming vehicles.
Following his arrest, the MP is said to have gone ballistic and allegedly hurled abusive words at the officers at the Airport command.
According to eyewitness reports, the MP who was in a fit of rage stormed out on the officers and drove away leaving his driver’s licence behind.
A statement by the Greater Accra Regional Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service said the former Energy Minister failed to cooperate with the officers after his driver’s licence was taken and he was sent to the Police station to be processed for court.
“The Airport Police Command later contacted him in the night on the telephone and asked him to report to the station today to be processed for court. This morning, the MP reported at the station and he has been duly processed for court,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, the four other suspects including Ahiadoglo Godnows, Arthur Asafo-Agyei Adu, Abednego Bandaogo and Ntiedu George have been duly processed to face court today, March 4, 2022.
