The embattled Chief Executive of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly, Abdul-Mumin Issah, has thanked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for the opportunity to serve.
He expressed gratitude to the President for his fatherly love and expressed strong conviction that in the fullness of time, the real truth surrounding the unfortunate incident will prevail.
A statement issued and signed by Mr. Issah acknowledged his suspension by President Akufo-Addo as MCE of the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly following an incident at a police checkpoint.
Footage of the incident that occurred at the Takoradi cemetery on the night of Wednesday, February 2, 2022, has been shared widely on social media.
The video captures the MCE abusing and threatening a police officer with a transfer because he had been stopped for dangerous driving.
He was subsequently suspended from his position and arraigned before court and granted a GH¢100,000 bail.
The suspended MCE assured of his highest cooperation with the Police administration for successful determination of the case.
