The Executive Director and Convener of the Center for National Interest and Research (CNIR) and the Centenary Agenda Initiatives, Engr. Dr. Dzabaku Kudiabor Ocansey has urged Ghanaians to unite for national development.
Dr. Ocansey emphasized the need for inclusivity, collaboration, and commitment to Ghana’s progress as the country embarks on a new chapter in 2025.
A vision for unity and progress
In a New Year message, Dr. Ocansey reflected on Ghana’s achievements and challenges since independence, expressing optimism about the future. He called on all citizens to work towards building a prosperous and inclusive society.
“Ghana needs professionals from all fields who will stand their ground for fairness and the progress of the national interest. We can’t succeed as a country if we continue to have heads or institutions who are more loyal to political parties and governments than the state,” he stated.
Centenary Agenda: A path to first-world status
Dr. Ocansey reiterated his commitment to the Centenary Agenda initiatives, which aim to transform Ghana into a developed nation by 2057. He outlined the importance of moving away from divisive politics and focusing on sustainable growth.
“67 years of independence and 32 years of the 4th Republic is enough time for us as a country to move away from extreme partisan politics of divisiveness and unprecedented corruption.”
“It is time for us to come together and strive for a first-world status on or before 2057,” he noted.
Congratulations to President-elect Mahama
Dr. Ocansey extended his congratulations to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama on his historic re-election as President of the Republic of Ghana.
“To all opposition parties and their supporters, I offer my sincerest appreciation for your role in Ghana’s democratic process. Let us put aside our differences and work together towards a common goal—a prosperous, inclusive, and resilient Ghana,” he added.
A message to Ghana’s youth
Addressing the youth, Dr. Ocansey underscored their vital role in driving national development and stressed, “You are the backbone of our nation, and your energy, creativity, and innovation are crucial to driving our country’s progress.
The CNIR, according to Dr. Ocansey, remains dedicated to promoting good governance, conducting evidence-based research, and advocating for inclusive growth. He invited all Ghanaians to join hands in making the vision of a developed Ghana a reality.
